Last Sunday the Hammersmith Novotel was once more buzzing with talk of an inky nature as the Spring Pen Show returned. Tables of writing instrument and accoutrements, new and used. Gallons of ink and mountains of paper. I entered intending to socialise and spend not one sou.

Last Sunday, the 9th of October, saw the London Pen Show, held once more at the Hammersmith Novotel. Despite the weather forecast being for rain, it proved to be a dry though chilly day, which of course was moot once we were inside and wandering round.

Ok confession time. I took too few pictures and I should have noted down what stores/sellers were there as it is under a week later and I am already struggling to remember 😀

First off this coming Sunday it is the Spring London Pen at the Hammersmith Novotel. Going to be interesting to see how many vendors and visitors will be there considering the near removal of COVID related restrictions over here and more people getting used to the ‘new reality’.
On a different note, I’ve not been able to produce weekly posts for a short while. This is partly due to me being busy with one of my other hobbies where I have administrative work.

In July it was back and the new style pen show worked well. This time we saw the benefits of people becoming more relaxed in the new post lock down world with the result of more vendors, more occupied tables, and more people.

A few months later than planned and in its new location, we finally had our first pen show for around a year and a half. Now migrated from the Holiday Inn near Russell Square to the Hammersmith Novotel, there must have been uncertainty over how the show would go. Less so over the new location and more down to the personal comfort factor now we’ve just come out of lock down and entering what is considered the ‘new norm’.

Just a late reminder to all that the spring London Pen Show will be held tomorrow, Sunday the 25th of July 2021.

For those not aware it is at a new location:
Novotel London West
Hammersmith
London, W6 8DRÂ
For the regular tickets (£5 per person) the show hours are 10:00-16:00, early bird is still available (£10 per person) which will give you access from 09:00. Note kids under 13 have free entry.
There is limited parking at the hotel though I would recommend pre-booking, I’ve personally used JustPark, else it is within comfortable walking distance of the Hammersmith underground station.

It’s been almost two weeks now and in my last post I only briefly mentioned what I had bought, so here’s greater details and initial views on the pens I picked up at the March 2020 London Pen Show.
