There has been a resurgence of posts recently on the venerable Lamy 2000, making the timing of this article some what suspicious, however the idea behind it actually came in January when fellow members of the United Inkdom review group, Scribble Monboddo and Ania M realised they were both doing pieces on the pen and could possibly combine them in to a meta review. Being an owner myself, who was I to pass up the opportunity.

Nahvalur Nautilus Tideland Cult Pens Exclusive

Cult Pens celebrated their partnership with Nahvalur (formerly Narwhal) with four exclusive pens, one of which is this, the Tideland version of the Nautilus model.  A nautically themed piston-filler design made of ebonite, with portholes to see the ink level.

Magna Carta Denima

I’ll be honest, partly off the back of my Magna Carta Elements, when I heard they were making this pen for a US pen show I was interested, and with it appearing to possibly be a one-off I was hoping there would be some left over to buy on line. There were not. More appeared for another US based show and I contacted Hiren over whether there would be more. There would be and online, but not straight away. Come October last year and I suddenly found Magna Carta would be at the London Pen Show, remembered I wanted a Denima and crossed my fingers.

Benefits of Blotting Paper

I wonder how many of us have blotting paper. Personally I’ve had an ink blotter with paper since I was a school kid, however many in our hobby do not. So why this post. Well from my daily carry write ups you will know that a Midori Traveller Passport Journal accompanies me most the time I am out of the house, plus a Midori Traveller Journal sits in my travel or work bags. I detail the pens held in their loops, but not what else is attached.

Kaweco 2022 Limited Edition Sports

Sigmund Freud wrote that we are nurtured as toddlers to collect. Sure much if not all, of his work has now been debunked, but too many of us look at limited edition releases of pens and go all Pokemon, have to catch (collect) them all, and boy are the big makers aware of this. Be it the Writers Editions from Montblanc or the flood of annual releases from Lamy, often covering five to eight lines of writing implements. Kaweco are no strangers to this, however limit things (normally) to just their basic Sport and AL Sport models.
