For most of us Scriveiner Pens have been on our radar for the last few months due to their creations being reviewed on a number of high profile YouTube channels. As I documented in my article on the London Spring 2024 Fountain Pen Show, I caught up with them during a break in my trying to reduce my pen collection and had a decent chat. The result was the purchase of this pen.

Just a quick one, while I am actually writing a review. I have now added two new tags for quick searching, EDC and EDC Fountain Pens. This is partly to cover retractable pens, but also as more people are referring to small and pocket pens as ‘every day carry’ pens.

I try not to do the Daily Carry and Daily Use posts too often as to me they can feel a bit like fillers, especially as changes are slow, however it has been just over a year since I last discussed what I take with me to the office where I volunteer. I must square up and level with you on this one that I have been somewhat busy these last few weeks with my other hobby, which has also caused a delay in posts and reviews.

Like many of its rivals, this Parisian originated luxury goods manufacturer has for several decades been selling fountain pens along side their other products to provide a complete service to their customers. The D-line is at the top of their regular range, though there are a couple of variants with other names (Eternity and Liberty). So having picked one up in a Cult Pens sale, just how does it fair.

There is one repeating situation in the modern fountain pen community. Fads and hype. We see a brand become the ‘in pen’ or ‘in model’ with many buying just ‘because’ followed by many much reduced second hand pens going on sale when the new owners find what works for one does not necessarily for them. Nakaya and the Platinum 3776 have both fallen in to this bracket, as arguably would have Conid if the brand had not suddenly been put on hold in the early days of Covid.

Change of plans ….
You may remember I could not attend as I will be up north for a family stone setting. Well it turns out there are shipping problems with the actual stone (before engraving) so it has been put back two weeks. Net result I will now be at the show and … I’ve booked a table again.
