I must admit I get the impression the M600 model in the Pelikan Souveran catalogue does seem to be overlooked aside from the occasional special edition. The bigger M800 seems to get much more focus, so is this a forgotten pen or just an adjunct in the range.

Yesterday was Pelikan Hub day 2024 and not only was our local meet back at Fleet, Hampshire (was not held there last year as too few of us could make it) but this year I was the hub master !!

When talking about Visconti pens many will think either of the homo sapiens models (with the hook lock mechanism) else the lower end Van Goghs and Rembrandts. It is easy to forget that alongside high end limited editions there were also the Opera and Opera Master ranges.

Looking at my desk at present I feel like I might have a thing for EDC or pocket pens. Certainly half of those in front of me fall in to that category, though not all are out as part of my daily use set. It did make me wonder though if I am moving towards this genre, though in reality they still only make up about 12% of my collection.

You would have thought having waited a year in the customer queue I would have been quick to review this pen while still under that honeymoon glow, but no for over a year passed before my first post and that was just on the ordering process. Now another 6 weeks have gone by and finally I have pulled my finger out to write this review of my Hakase NJ15A fountain pen though that in itself has led to a slight problem. Try finding an owner who has a bad word to say about their Hakase and you will see my problem. I do not want this to be love in but lets just say I am tempted to order another. Article over. Except this is not a pen for everyone and takes a lot of commitment and patience, so read on.
